Food Hygiene in Nurseries
EU Regulation 852/2004 Hygiene for Foodstuffs requires Nurseries to make sure that any members of staff handling food are supervised, instructed and trained in Food Hygiene in a way that is appropriate to the work they do. Maintaining hygiene standards within your Nursery is essential, due to the potential rapid spread of germs.

Upon completion of the level 2 online training material and test, learners will receive a City & Guilds Accredited Level 2 Certificate in Food Safety and Hygiene meeting the legal training required, which must then be applied to work situations.
It is recommended that all food premises should have at least one person trained to Level 3 – particularly if they are in charge of other staff and are responsible for the training of staff. By completing this online training, individuals will benefit from a broad knowledge of food safety and hygiene in the workplace.
